POSH Heads to Palm Beach

This winter, "The Hottest Sale in Town" traveled to the warmth of sunny Florida. Fashion lovers and Lighthouse International supporters enjoyed our inaugural POSH Palm Beach Sale and a dinner dance fundraiser held at the luxurious Colony Hotel.
With the help of Honorary Chair and legendary actress, Arlene Dahl, and many of Palm Beach's most influential residents, the events were a huge success. Together, they generated $360,000 in support of Lighthouse International's mission of empowering people who are visually impaired to enjoy safe and independent lives.

"At the Lighthouse," states President and CEO Tara A. Cortes, PhD, RN, "we work with whatever remaining vision people have to ensure they can continue to function as best as possible. Events like POSH are critical to helping us accomplish this as part of our 103-year-old mission." Adds Mady Schuman, Senior Vice President for Development, "As a nonprofit organization, the Lighthouse is very dependent on philanthropic contributions that come through special events like POSH."
Palm Beach bargain hunters - like those who attend our signature New York sale - browsed designer labels, including Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Gucci, Bob Mackie, Badgley Mischka, Pucci and Valentino. The sale also included fashions donated by celebrities such as Joan Collins, Joan Rivers and Susan Lucci, along with the same Bill Blass suit Tipper Gore wore to Al Gore's Nobel Prize reception. In addition, merchandise was donated by local Palm Beach merchants and designers, such as Trillion, Lily Holt, The Reef Boutique, Fiandaca and Charlotte Kellogg.
We extend a special thanks to our POSH Palm Beach Chair and Co-Chairs, members of the Women's and Men's Committees, all of our volunteers for their hard work - and to everyone who attended.
