What is a Performathon?
It's the same principle as a walkathon. Performers of all ages, musical levels and styles solicit donations in order to perform on stage. Individual students need to raise $5 or more to perform at the event, while performance ensembles need to raise $100 or more per group.
These donations directly benefit the students of the Music School, as they aid in keeping tuition costs low and affordable as well as allowing for the purchase, upgrade and maintenance of instruments, and providing access to alternate music formats such as Braille, large print, and audio.
